Bramblings Forest School takes place at Oldfield Wood on the outskirts of Nailsworth. Comprising 15 acres in total, we have access to 5 acres (almost 5 football pitches!) of woodland and meadow owned by a friend who is equally passionate about young people having access to nature.

Comprising a range of native tree species, there is also an abundance of wildlife to be found on site. We also have access to running water, a compost loo, a garden of raised beds and a horse box for storing bags etc. during the day.

The location of the Oldfield site is slightly away from the town and has limited vehicular access. However the walk up from the playing fields affords great views of the town and the ‘W’, and becomes an event in itself with lots of fun, games and sometimes even a hot chocolate break!

Oldfield Wood

“Forests are places where we can get back in touch with our inner selves, where we can walk on soft ground, breathe in natural scents, taste berries, listen to the leaves crackling – all the senses are awakened in the subdued light and stress melts away like snow in the sun”.
