A typical day…..
We meet for drop-off at King George V Playing Fields in Nailsworth at 9:45am
At 10am prompt, we begin our walk up to the site through the fields, with lots of fun, songs and games on the way!
When we enter the woodland after a 25-30 minute walk, the bustling market town below feels a million miles away, as we immerse ourselves in 5 acres of woodland and meadows. Previous visitors have commented how it feels different to previous Forest School experiences as it feels like we are deep within the woods with a true feeling of escapism.
On arrival, we drop off our bags and belongings and get settled into one of our base-camps around the site. We’ll do some introductions, play a game and make our plans for the day!
There will be an activity run (bushcraft skills, art, cooking etc.) planned on the feedback/observations from previous sessions. There will also be a variety of resources available (trowels, tarpaulins etc.) to facilitate play opportunities.
At lunchtime, we’ll all get together for lunch; this may be a packed lunch, or cooked on the fire (see the session details). We’ll tell some stories and play a game!
In the afternoon we may move to a different base camp within the site. There will be more opportunities for play and activities.
Around 3pm, we will all get together again and take time to reflect and review the day.
We’ll then retrace our steps back down the fields to Nailsworth.
Collection is at 4pm back at the playing fields.

Fire lighting
