Bramblings as a Community Interest Company (CIC)

We are a not-for-profit organisation, with our primary aim to be an asset to the local community. All proceeds will first be used to cover our staff costs and overheads. Any surplus will then be re-invested into the project in two ways: expanding the resources, materials, and opportunities we’re able to offer, or to support our ‘Forest School Connection’ program (see below).

How will we support the local community?

-Local people employed as assistants in paid roles, especially parents who would like some extra income

-Opportunities and support for older children who would like to volunteer at Bramblings. Connections will then be created as older children can act as mentors for the younger ones

-Significant discount on sessions for parents/guardians who can commit to volunteering for sessions

-Connections between families through ‘sharing sessions’ and ‘skill-share’ days

-Resources for activities, cooking etc. to be sourced as much as possible from local businesses

Forest School Connection program

This exciting initiative is at the core of our mission statement at Bramblings, as we look to connect local children with Forest School opportunities. We will look to partner with local businesses/schools to co-sponsor children who might not have access to Forest School sessions, be facing challenges in their lives or need support to re-engage with learning at school.

Having worked in schools for many years, it is my firm belief that ALL children should have access to the outdoors. Due to the cost of living crisis, many parents would struggle to pay for regular sessions (even at a discounted rate) or don’t have Forest School on their ‘radar’ as an option for their children. From personal experience, after several sessions at Forest School the transformation is especially striking for these children who have challenges in their lives and are often struggling in the classroom.

Therefore we would like to work with local schools to identify local children who would benefit from this program. We will then set up regular small-group sessions over a sustained period of time for these children to experience Forest School sessions.

If you are interested in partnering with Bramblings Forest School to co-sponsor a local child, please get in touch!
