Sessions at Bramblings

As Bramblings Forest School begins in Spring 2023 at our Oldfield site, we have decided to begin with all-day sessions on a weekend. We have already had lots of feedback suggesting a demand for this from local children and parents. Furthermore, the 6 hour immersive structure seems a new way that we can add to the amazing Forest School provision already present in the Nailsworth/Stroud area!

Therefore you will find booking slots for initial taster days; long-term we will offer a Saturday or Sunday club. We also have lots of exciting ideas for special events and experts for sessions in the summer months.

The beauty of Forest School is that it is participant-led, so therefore the activities will be constantly reviewed and will always reflect the passions and interests of our participants. Furthermore, as we start to make connections within the local community, we hope to grow Bramblings to reflect the needs and desires of local families. For example, if a group of parents want to do a regular home school session or a parent/toddler group, get in touch and we’ll see if we can make it happen*!

*The limited access to the site (see Location section) has implications for the length/type of session we run; for example, as much as we would love to run parent/toddler sessions, the walk up and down the hill may prove to be too much for the little ones! Furthermore, a 2 or 3 hour session wouldn’t really be viable due to the walk in and out. However we are definitely open to ‘creative’ solutions for enabling other demographics to access Forest School sessions at Bramblings in the future. Get in touch for a chat if you have any propositions or ideas!

“Most kids have technology, school and extracurricular activities covered. It’s time to add a pinch of adventure, a sprinkle of sunshine and a big handful of  outdoor play.”
